Hotel rooms will be reserved by FNLMAQL on behalf of eligible participants. Hotel reservations can be made for up to four nights (November 16 to 20, 2026), depending on attendance requirements. Participants will indicate their accommodation needs during registration.

Please note that the hotel is located about 30 km from the venue where the event will take place. If you would need a ride between the hotel and the venue on the event days, please let us know so we can arrange carpooling!

The FNLMAQL will cover accommodation, travel, and per diem expenses for at least one (1) representative from each Indigenous community in Quebec and Labrador. Communities wishing to register additional participants are encouraged to do so. Additional registrations will be placed on a waiting list and accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available funding and space.

Eligible travel expenses will be reimbursed following the event, upon submission of a completed reimbursement form and supporting documentation. Per diem rates for meals and incidentals follow the National Joint Council allowances. Mileage for use of a personal vehicle follows the National Joint Council kilometric rates. All other expenses, including parking, taxis, bus/train/plane tickets, and similar costs, will require receipts.

Participants are responsible for booking their own travel to and from the event. Eligible travel expenses will be reimbursed after the event upon submission of a completed expense claim form.

FNLMAQL is committed to making this event accessible to all participants. Attendees will have an opportunity to identify accessibility requirements during registration, including mobility, visual, hearing, or other accommodation needs.

Simultaneous interpretation will be available throughout the event in English and French.

Yes. However, participants are strongly encouraged to attend the full event to benefit from the community tour, knowledge sharing, and the Real Property Appraisal training.

When filling out the registration form, you will be asked to identify which part of the event you plan to attend. You must be present on the days you select in order to be reimbursed for your travel expenses.

The event is fully bilingual. Simultaneous interpretation will be available throughout the event, and all training materials will be provided in both English and French.

No. The training is designed to provide participants with a practical understanding of real property appraisals and is suitable for land managers with little or no previous appraisal experience. Participants with prior experience will also find value in the cases studies presented, and the discussion of best practices.

Yes. Participants who attend both days of the Real Property Appraisal Training in full will receive a certificate of completion.

The community tour will take place primarily by bus, with exits and visits along the way. Please wear comfortable footwear, and warm clothing suitable for November weather. For the training, please bring a notebook or laptop. Participants are also encouraged to bring questions or examples from their communities related to appraisals, leasing, taxation, development, or other land management projects.

If you need to cancel your registration or make changes to your accommodation requirements, please notify FNLMAQL as soon as possible.

Because hotel rooms and event costs are incurred on behalf of participants, unreported absences may affect eligibility for future FNLMAQL events and training opportunities.
