Artist: Postcard Project (Contract)
Are you an emerging Indigenous artist looking to showcase your work? FNLMAQL is looking to hire an artist to design our end-of-year postcards.
THE DESIGN:
The designs do not need to focus on specific holidays, winter, or the first new moon themes, but can be inspired by -personal or/and community- Indigenous beliefs, traditions, and/or experiences as well as a connection to the land. We ask when artists pitch an idea include an explanation about the piece.
Art mediums of all kinds are welcome. The only requirement would be for the piece to be able to be photographed or scanned to be printed. Card designs for the pitch can be in a postcard or folded card style.
THE PRODUCT:
The art will be produced for 100-150 cards to be mailed out to the provinces to our stakeholders, members, and other Regional Lands Associations. Artists will be contacted if the design will be used to print more cards or displayed elsewhere for an updated rate. Artists are not required to print the cards.
THE PITCH:
Deadline to submit an application will be November 1st at 4PM EST.
Please include a bio as well as both published/paid and unpaid pieces in your portfolio.
The selected artist will receive a payment of $500 for their work once completed. Check your inbox for a confirmation of your application. If you have not received a reply, reach out to us via Facebook.
Submit your application to communications@fnlmaql.ca. Only successful applicants will be contacted by mid-November.
Indigenous and emerging artists will be prioritized.
